The terminology is from my DEFCON presentations. I was specific with "UMI" because it bypasses the legal pitfalls of traditional "hacking". And as many now know, the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections were "liberally" dosed with UMI. yuk yuk.

The basis of UMI was my version of Schramm, the Reflective Schramm model. The initial seed of a context model is always a projection of your own internal model. It sets the range of future beliefs as the model iterates through interrogations. Spiking the seed skews future communications. The effect is clear if you speak to someone with "Trump Derangement Syndrome". The MSM and social media planted a seed and warped it via repetition so their model literally blocks any rational thoughts related to Trump. laughing_emoji-2

Update: Billionaire admits TDS is real

"The billionaire also said those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome did more damage than Trump ever did."

Hacking The Planet - 1988
This image was for my DEFCON 13 opening but I used a funny experience from my flight instead. I discovered hacking as an electronic technician at Teradyne in Agoura Hills, CA. They had dozens of Microvax II systems overseas and I realized I could hack from Agoura Hills into Boston
RealMeme.com - 2004 to 2010
RealMeme.com was the inspiration for Google Trends. I started data mining the Internet in 1993, searching for S-curve trends in technology. I developed several semantic concepts such as sentiment analysis, quality of service, inflection points, marginal utility, diffraction, overdriven memes (frau…
Election Hacking 101 - 2007
My 2007 DEFCON presentation refers to “active” vs “passive” devices in data mining and manipulating mental states. That’s what Cambridge Analytica did in the 2016 Presidential election. My theory starts at the 32 minute mark of this video: Just re-watched this. Wow, I really hit this one out of…
My Most Audacious Hack - 2007
In 2005, I was monitoring the housing industry for recession indicators and in December the home inventory trendline reversed due to a sales slowdown, a strong indicator. So I expected a recession soon. Naomi Klein released “The Shock Doctrine” in 2007 and I realized her concept of economic…
Vertical Web Revisited
I wrote “The Vertical Web” in 2013. I presumed the IT industry will enter a saturation and consolidation phase similar to the automobile industry of the 1930s and the largest IT companies will merge, fail or assimilate. I used only an analysis of business strategy, no quantitative data like ROI,
Predictive Communication Model - 2013
This is a semantic model for quantifying relationships. It was a sudden epiphany during an nine-hour drive from Boulder to Kansas City over Thanksgiving weekend. I’d hoped to turn it into working software but my employer was more interested in converting me to Jesus and didn’t perceive its value.…

1) Hacking The Planet turned into a "Hackers" movie scene.

2) RealMeme.com was pirated by Google and became Google Trends.

3) Election Hacking came true ten years later. laughing_emoji-3

4) The Buddhist Economics meme (Audacious Hack) morphed into Environmental, Social, and corporate Governance (ESG)

5) The Vertical Web is probably happening now in slow motion, ten years later.

6) The Predictive Communication Model died quietly, killed by Jesus. My last epiphany until this year.

7) Gold-backed Currency might go well.
