I like the weather of the Pacific Northwest. I lived here twelve years split between Portland and Seattle but it's time to leave. I pondered a smaller city in Washington but the State government has the same disease as California ($70 billion in debt but promising reparations to blacks and free health care for illegal aliens). Insanity. The WA legislature is following the same path, with bills to triple property taxes, more gun restrictions, plus potential lockdown and forced vaccinations.

Last year I investigated Nevada and Reno, Tennessee, Texas but Florida came out ahead, houses are 20-30% cheaper than in the PNW areas I monitor. I debated over the past few months.

Between the layoffs, legislature and cost difference, I bid goodbye to Socialist WA just like I did to CA in 1990. chuckle.gif Redid my Redfin and Zillow searches for Florida this week. If we're having a civil war, I'd rather be there than here.
