I suggested Saudi Arabia as a likely BRICS member in March, 2022 based on my commodity oligopoly theory (similar to my analysis in 2013 of a Twitter buyout and 2022 Tech Crash).  Most "analysts" thought it a remote possibility but it's about to happen.

Let's examine the prospective BRICS members by commodity:

We can deduce two strategies from these choices.

RED: reinforces current oligopolic objectives (oil and its derivatives, plastics and fertilizer) and adds redundant partners.

GREEN: opens up new domains; weapons from Iran, coffee from Ethiopia, beef from Argentina and new foodstuffs (vegetables, beans, corn) because BRICS already control about half of rice and wheat production.
