Gavin Newsom Reacts to CNN Report That Trump Is Canceling Funding for the State: - Democratic Underground Forums

Newsom claims California pays more to FedGov than it receives. Easily debunked because there are no "donor States". The FedGov is borrowing an additional $2+ trillion more than all State payments combined and California receives about 10% or $200 billion.

$200 billion minus the $80 billion claim by Newsom means California reaps a $120 billion windfall, 1/3rd of his State budget.

Federal deficit spending is part of the glue holding the empire together because each State effectively gets an annual loan co-signed by Big Daddy that they have no responsibility to repay. Newsom is ignorant or a liar and I'd like to see him act on his claim. My mom is dead so CALPERS isn't my concern anymore.

Debtors never believe debt matters... until 1/3rd of their budget gets pulled. The blue States, especially the large ones, have an inflationary mindset re-enforced for 55 fiat years. NOBODY in those States can honor debt obligations because they were conditioned like Pavlov dogs to pushed their debt forward into cheaper money every year.

That world is ending. In the near future, they'll push their debt forward into HIGHER interest rates and more expensive money. Listen to their shrieks already. Trump is more of a symptom than a cause but Progressives don't seem able to figure this out.

Newsom is just more lies and future pain. Washington, Oregon and California headed for a Reckoning regardless of the president's name which is why they're not on my mailing list. Most of their crypto bills are about confiscation, restrictions and fines while the red States bills are about commerce, innovation and flexibility.

Mortgage Debt - 2024
Average mortgage payment for red States versus blue States. The blue States carry about fifty percent more mortgage debt, a monthly payment of $3055 versus $2052. That’s a significant factor in inflationary expectations. Debtors tend to favor inflation to dilute away their debt (soft money). Higher debt means higher tendency
