In 2000, Martin released "After the Internet: Alien Intelligence", surmising the Internet would evolve into alien intelligences limited to niche domains like chemistry, medicine, etc. I thought Shazam was the first alien intelligence, no human being can match its ability to recognize music.

And I thought Elon's fears of AI were more about publicity and his ego. But last night I tried an experiment with ChatGBT that was absolutely incredible. I asked it to read this page and solve a set of linear equations and quantitative analysis about the evolution of work. Chat locked up for a bit.
