I was a member of DemocraticUnderground.com for several years. They banned me in 2008 for a one-liner Obama joke so I never bothered with it again except to occasionally check on how their echo chamber was "progressing". This growing propensity to ban is why I pay for my own website now.

Now they're freaking over Trump and swapping X.com for BlueSky.com because "it's safer" but their real problem is that they need an echo chamber. Their hubris and lack of self awareness are startling.

The liberal answer to every problem is to force everyone else to conform using cancel culture, boycotts and laws while blabbing about "diversity". But maybe... just maybe the problem is their magical thinking. For instance:

One guy guipped that Trump may start show trials. So, wow, he's aware of that historical terminology but can't recognize that J6 and Trump lawfare ARE THE SHOW TRIALS. Oh, that's right, it could never happen from their candidate because of their moral superiority. Half of them still believe the Russia hoax perpetrated by Hillary Clinton. Most still believe the COVID vaccine is safe and effective.

They still believe they're "saving poor immigrants", not using them as disposable political tools to overthrow the existing election system.

Hubris is the most dangerous sin because it often masquerades as virtue.

I used to check DU for amusement but now it's sad, like a dying turtle flipped on its back, squirming, flailing and unable to right itself.
