I made a series of posts in 2006 about "The Cultural Diffusion", the idea that a granular, interactive Internet leads to a cultural diffusion of echo chambers with increasing conflict and miscommunication.

I published “The Cultural Diffusion” on my website in 2006. The Longtail theory was a prominent idea then, that the transition from monolithic, one-way communication systems to granular, interactive systems would create small but profitable niche markets.
