Tree surgeon dropped the 70-year-old cedar tree in the front yard. It was struck by lightning a few months before I arrived and had rotted out far more than I realized. The tree surgeon said it would probably have fallen into my power lines in another year or two.

Lightning and Thunder again, signs and portents. The storm knocked down part of my front yard tree, which was struck by lightning a few months before I arrived here... A piece of wood that has been struck by lightning is believed to be the most powerful talisman available.
It's about 65 feet tall and several people stopped by to inquire about the wood. It's unreplaceable and sad. Log calculator says it's about 7,000 lbs of wood.
